Anne, Emily, Branwell and I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Fenay. We found the facilities far more comfortable than those at home in the parsonage and the many views of the bay from the hills around have been far more uplifting than those views we have of the graveyard at home.  I am almost persuaded to write a romantic novel when we get home.

Mr Harker and I have spent an inspirational week enjoying the tranquillity of Fenay cottage. I found the resident bat population most interesting and have spent hours at the writing desk, saw a black dog run up from the beach this morning, there must be a book in that somewhere.      Bram

We spend every summer here on our holidays from the circus, the beds in Fenay cottage are so comfortable and so rest my weary body from the rigors of the trapeze work, I think I need a new act soon.  Had terrible difficulty with the front door lock as we were locked in for hours last night and sorry about the knots in the washing line, they will just not come out.

Mister Carroll and I have so much enjoyed staying in Fenay cottage this year. Why, only this morning we were down at the beach collecting stones with Gryphon, when we saw a mock turtle sitting on a rock and throwing lobsters back into the sea, there was even a porpoise treading on the tail of a whiting.

Robin Hoods Bay has so many attractions, the minimalist landscape of the beach, the long drawn out conversations in the Laurel, the simplicity of forthright speech in the Dolphin, a haven of philosophical entreaties and escapements. I came for the weekend but found Fenay cottage so delightful I stayed for the whole month. I hope nobody missed me.
